RE: Mike's Cherokee Build - The Green PoS
Well, it's definitely ready for Saturday! Got the extended brake lines in tonight and brakes are bled.
I didn't get around to doing the engine mounts or any of the rear stuff (shocks, floor patch, frame patch) but it will do the trick saturday. The set of flare wrenches came in pretty handy ... except for the bleeder that was super tight. But all is well. Mike 2000 XJ Cherokee - 3.5'' lift / 32'' Tirerecapper Pizza Cutters / Front Locker |

RE: Mike's Cherokee Build - The Green PoS
One of the things I didn't get around to fixing was ripping out the valve stem on one of the tires, cleaning the wheel and replacing it. That RF tire only seems to hold air for about 10 hours.
Anyway, that aside, I'm surprised at how well it rides. I wasn't expecting any sort of on road improvement. Just off road improvement from increased front articulation and the locker. Apparently the factory control arms and junkyard factory shocks were well past their prime. All four were in various stages of bent. In fact, the bushings just fell out of one of them when I removed it from the Jeep. Rides quite nice. Still was all over the road this morning with the crosswinds. Had a bit of a funny noise. Apparently the vent tube got ripped off and wrapped up in the driveshaft. Fixed that with a zip tie ... fun fact, when it's raining hard like it was this morning - the water runs DIRECTLY ON YOUR CHEST when you are trying to zip tie the vent tube to a control arm in the pouring rain. Well I think it can be called the mountain goat. I think with the skinny tires and front locker and the front biased weight distribution in the Cherokee, it's dialed in pretty well.
Really impressed with how it performed. The bypass on the Tacoma trail would not have happened if I didn't have the front locker. Even the Millertime trail would have been a struggle. Mike 2000 XJ Cherokee - 3.5'' lift / 32'' Tirerecapper Pizza Cutters / Front Locker |

I was pretty sure you were going to see a major improvement lol.
